Terms of Service

The product

Kura is a Mac application that helps you organize and find photos in folders you link on your computer. Kura does not move, rename, or upload your photo files to a Kura cloud. Organizing data you create in the app (such as collections, tags, people, and locations) is stored locally unless you choose features that write metadata into your files.

License and purchase

You may try Kura free for a limited trial period in the app. A paid license is a one-time purchase for access to the app and one year of software updates from the purchase date. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. After the update year ends, you may keep using the version you already have; further updates may require a new purchase.

Checkout and payment are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle’s checkout terms also apply to the payment transaction. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Kura on Macs you own or control, subject to these terms and any activation limits we communicate at purchase.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell the app except as allowed by applicable law; not to circumvent license or update checks; and not to use Kura for unlawful activity. You are responsible for the folders and files you link and for maintaining your own backups.

Updates and availability

We may provide updates via our website and in-app update mechanism during your update entitlement period. We do not guarantee uninterrupted website or update availability. System requirements (currently macOS 13 or later) may change for future versions.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Kura is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or meet every expectation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of Kura. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law (including EU/German consumer law where it applies).

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site or app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
